Economist

Benjamín Vergara is an economist with experience primarily in the field of research and public policies. He currently works as an economic analyst at FK Economics in the Santiago office.

At FK Economics, he has primarily focused on economic and financial consulting. His work includes preparing expert reports, conducting economic evaluations, and quantifying damages in litigation and arbitration using statistics and econometrics. He has worked with clients such as private companies, regulatory authorities, and both national and international law firms.

Mr. Vergara holds a degree in Business Engineering with a major in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, as well as a master’s degree in Applied Economics from the same university. In both programs, he was ranked among the highest in his class.

His master’s thesis, titled “Estimating a Prudent Level of Public Debt in Chile,” made a significant contribution to the analysis of fiscal policy at the Chilean Fiscal Council, which served as his academic counterpart during the writing of his thesis. 

During his studies, he worked as a teaching assistant in various subjects at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, as well as a research assistant for professors in the School of Government at the same university.
