Public Policy Consultant
He was a professor at the Facultad de Economía y Administración of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile for nearly 30 years, where he also served as Director of Academic Affairs and Director of the Instituto de Economía. The courses he has taught and his research focus on Labor Economics, Health Economics, and Education Economics, as well as the area of Competition and Markets, among other fields of economics. His career also includes notable roles such as chairing the Unemployment Insurance Users Commission, being a member of the 2013 CASEN Expert Panel, and serving on the Poverty Measurement Council.
